Educational Qualifications:

Group A & Code No. 01 MCA (Masters in Computer Applications)/MIT (Masters in Information Technology)/ MCM Master in Computer Management) or BE (Computer Science/ECE).
Group B & Code No. 02 Graduate in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) in the discipline of Electrical Engineering .
Group C & Code No. 03 Graduate in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering.
Group D & Code No. 04 Graduation with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate or 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) in Masters from recognised University.

Age Limit (As on 31.12.2008) : 21 - 35 Years, relaxation as per rules.

Pay Scale : Rs.11110/-540(14)-18,670-560(4)-20910.

Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be called for written examination on 24th May 2009 which would comprise the following:
Objective Type Tests of:
(i) Reasoning
(ii) English language
(iii) General awareness
(iv) Professional knowledge- for the post in Group A to C
(v) Numerical Ability/Data interpretation Test for the post under Group-D in place of Professional Knowledge Test.

The first three tests i.e. Test of Reasoning, English Language and General Awareness will be common for all the candidates. The Test of Professional Knowledge will be specific to each of the Groups (A to C) as may be applicable.

Test papers (i),(iii) (iv) and (v) shall be both in English & Hindi

Application Fee:
A Crossed Bank Draft of Rs. 500/- (valid for six months) payable at Chennai purchased from any branch of the Nationalised or Scheduled Bank drawn in favour of 'UNITED INDIA INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED' payable at Chennai should be attached with the application form. No examination fee is required for SC/ST candidates and confirmed employees of General Insurance Corporation of India, Public Sector General Insurance Companies , Tariff Advisory Committee/AICIL applying for the post. Candidates should write his/her name and address, Group and Code No. on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

Minimum Qualification:
Must posses a Degree from a recognised university or equivalent Examination,
The Senior Grade Examination in English shorthand with 60% of aggregate marks; or the Proficiency Grade Examination in English Shorthand; and
Senior Grade Examination in Typewriting in English, conducted by the Department of Public Instruction of the Karnataka Secondary Education Board or equivalent qualification.
Certificate in Computer Word Processing or equivalent.

Note:
Preference will be given to those candidates who possess the qualification of Senior Grade Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in Kannada Language.

Probation: The applicant if appointed shall be initially on probation for a period of two years or for extended period if necessary.

Age limit: 18 - 35 Years.
Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of:-
40 years in the case of a person belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Category-I of other Backward Classes.
38 years in the case of a person belonging to Category-II-A or II-B or III-A or III-B of Other Backward Classes; and
35 years for others.

Application fee: Every application (excluding applications by Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Category-I applicants) shall accompany Crossed Indian Postal Order for Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty Only) in favour of the Registrar General, High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore 560001. (SC/ST and Category-I candidates are exempted from payment of fee).

How To Apply ;

application in the prescribed proforma shall be filled in by the candidates in their own handwriting and shall accompany attested copies obtained from the Gazetted Officers of the following certificates.

Three Certificates of character, one from the Principal / Head of the Institution in which he/she had last studied and two from respectable persons not related to him/her, testifying to his/her character.
Marks Cards of Degree / Equivalent examinations and English Senior Grade Shorthand or proficiency Grade Shorthand Examinations and Typewriting Examinations.
Persons claiming the benefit of reservations under SC/ST shall produce a certificate in the form prescribed by the Government issued by the competent authority.
SSLC or any other equivalent certificate showing the date of birth.
Persons claiming the benefit of reservations under Category-I/II-A/II-B/III-A/III-B shall produce a certificate in the form prescribed by the Government issued by the competent authority.
Persons claiming reservation under rural quota / Physically Handicapped quota / Displaced from Projects / Kannada Medium / Ex-servicemen shall produce certificates issued by competent authority.
A passport size photo shall be affixed at the place provided on the application.

Note: Incomplete applications shall be liable to be rejected without notice. Original certificates and testimonials are to be submitted only at the time of test/interview. Candidates shall not forward the original documents along with the application.

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service/ Hydro Cadre) of the Indian Navy for Jan 2010 Course at Naval Academy (NAVAC) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Physical Standards: (a) Height and Weight.. Minimum height - 157 cm with correlated weight. (b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.
