How To Apply
Eligible candidates have to apply through online registration system of NHPC only. General and OBC category candidates are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 250/- through Demand Draft only in favour of “NHPC Limited” payable at Faridabad / New Delhi. No other mode of payment would be accepted. Candidates can visit the online registration site from 1300 hours of 27th Oct. 2008 to midnight of 28th Nov. 2008.

Steps for applying:
Step-1: Log on to www.nhpcindia.com & click on recruitment.
Step-2: Read all instructions given on the website.
Step-3: Fill the On Line Form with relevant details and submit.
Step-4:Take the print of the registration slip generated by the system in duplicate with Unique Registration Number,
Step-5:Affix passport size photograph on registration slip. The candidate has to send one printout of registration slip duly signed along with required demand draft. The registration number, name, discipline and category should be written at the back of DD. The envelope should be super scribed with Advertisement Number, Post applied for and Category (i.e. GEN / OBC / SC / ST / PH) as the case may be and should be sent by ordinary post (Since postbox does not accept mail through registered post/courier) to: “Manager (HR), Recruitment Section, NHPC Limited, Post Box No. 364 at Amar Nagar Post Office , Faridabad – 121003 (Haryana)”

1. Qualification:
Candidates applying should have passed the qualifying examination – detailed below - as on 1st September, 2008 with minimum 60% marks; 55% for candidate belongs to SC/ST/PH categories. Result awaited candidates need not apply.

2.Age:
a.Eligibility shall be reckoned as on 1st September 2008; minimum – 21 Years and maximum – 30 Years.
b.Relaxations in age shall be subject to fulfilling other laid down eligibility conditions.
c.The maximum relaxation in age permissible for different categories shall be as under.

OBC (Central List) Three (3) years
Physically Handicapped Ten (10) years
Ex-Service Men Ex-servicemen who have put in not less than six months continuous service in Armed Forces of the Union shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from their actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed by more than 3 years the maximum age limit prescribed for the post for which the candidate seeks appointment, s/he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding the age limit.
Departmental Candidates Five (5) years for all candidates who are MTNL employees irrespective of their category, i.e., General/SC/ST/OBC/PH etc.

3. Pay & Emoluments:
Selected candidates will be entitled to a Stipend of Rs. 12,000/- per month during the training period. On successful completion of training they shall be appointed in the IDA Pay Scale of Rs. 10,750-300-16750 (pre-revised) and shall be on a Probation for one year. During the probation period, in addition to Basic Pay, they shall be entitled to HRA / Subsidized Company Accommodation and other benefits like Medical facilities, Productivity Link Incentives, Gratuity, Contributory Provident Fund, CCA, LTA, Leave Encashment, etc. At the minimum of the Pay Scale, the CTC is around Rs. 3.7 Lakhs per annum. The pay scales are due for revision with effect from 1st January 2007.
