An opportunity in SAIL for around 300 Management Trainees(Technical)

SAIL invites applications for the posts of Management Trainees (Technical) in the areas Engineering and Computer Science. The posts are in E-1grade with scale of pay of Rs.10750- 4% -16750/-.

Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Chemical, Electronics & Telecommunications, Instrumentation, Civil, Ceramics and Computer Science from a recognized University/ Institute with minimum 65% marks in aggregate of all years/semesters (50% in aggregate for SC/ST candidates). For Computer Science discipline, those having recognized Master’s Degree in Computer Applications (MCA) (3-year course) with minimum 65% marks in the aggregate (50% in aggregate for SC/ST candidates) are also eligible.

Age : 30 years, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, by 3 years for OBC candidates and by 10 years for Physically Handicapped candidates.

Selection Procedure : Eligible candidates will be required to appear for objective type written examination in July, 2009 followed by Interview/ GD.

Fee : Fee to be deposited by Pay-in-slip in any branch of State Bank of India account
No. 30767176945) at CAG Branch, New Delhi, on behalf of SAIL. Also pay Rs.25 extra for bank Charges.

How to Apply : Eligible and interested candidates would be required to apply online only through SAIL’s website. The online registration site would be open from 9th May, 2009 to 30th June, 2009.

After applying online, candidate is required to download the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number and other essential details with space for passport size photograph & signature. The Union Public Service commission will hold the Indian Economic Service (IES)/ Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination commencing from 21st November, 2009 for recruitment to Grade IV of the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS). The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

Conditions of Elgibility

(A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

• Age Limit : Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st January, 2009. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

• A candidate for the Indian Economic Service (IES) must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economis/ Business Economics/ Econometrics and candidate for the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics from a recognised University.

(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Servicce Examination, 2009 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.
