Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service/ Hydro Cadre) of the Indian Navy for Jan 2010 Course at Naval Academy (NAVAC) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Age. 19 ½ to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1985 and 01 Jul 1990; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications : A Science graduate with Physics & Mathematics with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University. (b) BE/B Tech with minimum 55% marks in aggregate in any discipline from a institution recognized by AICTE. (c) Science graduates (Physics & Mathematics) from a recognized University holding NCC Naval Wing, Senior Division ‘C’ certificate can also apply. (d) Graduate/Post Graduate in Operations Analysis and Operational Research/ Quantitative methods with minimum 75% marks from recognized university. (e) Graduate/Post Graduate in Mathematics, with Probability or Statistics with minimum 75% marks from recognized university.

Physical Standards: (a) Height and Weight.. Minimum height - 157 cm with correlated weight. (b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.

Educational Qualifications : (a) A Graduate Degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Physical Standards : Height and Weight : Minimum height Male - 162.5 cm with correlated weight. Eye Sight - The minimum acceptable standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 connect able to 6/6, 6/6 and should not be color/night blind.

SSC : Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate.

Officers of the as Pilot in Executive Branch will not be given any extension beyond fourteen years and will not be eligible for permanent commission.

Trainee Navigating Officer Cadets (TNOCs) to Unmarried Male & Female candidates Under the Indira Gandhi National Open University – Directorate General of Shipping (IGNOU-DGS) Project leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science).

Educational Qualifications:
a) With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B. Sc with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc. from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) with not less than 55% marks in PCM from a recognized Board. OR
